How can I give my learner an extra assignment, quiz or exam attempt?

The Educator Portal allows educators to enable extra attempts on multiple-choice assignments, quizzes, and exams.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1) Log into the Educator Portal.

2) Navigate to the “Roster” tab from your Educator dashboard.

3) Select the specific student and the course you'd like to adjust.

4) Scroll to the topic that includes the quiz or assignment.

5) Locate the quiz row and click the “Attempts Used” dropdown (e.g., it might say “1 out of 2”).

6) A small popup will appear labeled “Allowed Attempts.”

7) Use the arrows or type in the number of attempts you’d like to allow.

8) Click the blue “Save” button to confirm your changes.


Learners are given the following attempts by default:

  • 2 attempts on multiple-choice assignments

  • 2 attempts on quizzes

  • 1 attempt on midterm and final exams

  • 1 attempt on warm-up, essay, and annotation assignments
