1) Click the Roster tab in the far left navigation bar
2) Select the specific student and the course you'd like to adjust.
3) Select the topic that includes the assignment or quiz you would like to process another retake for.
4) Follow the specific assignments row and open the "Attempts Used" dropdown (e.g., "1 out of 2").
5) A popup labeled "Allowed Attempts" will appear. Adjust the number of attempts using the arrows or by typing directly.
6) Click Save to confirm your changes.
When can the student access the new attempt?
If the original submission has already been graded, increasing the allowed attempts gives the student access to the new attempt immediately — there's no additional waiting period. The 24–48 hour grading window only applies to grading a submission itself, not to unlocking a retake on an already-graded assignment.
