In this guide, we've provided instructions for how to enable access to your camera and microphone when doing work on Subject. Our platform works best on Google Chrome, but we've also provided instructions for Safari, Firefox and Microsoft Edge.
Chrome
Click the lock/slider icon next to the website URL.
Select Site settings.
Find Camera and Microphone, and set both to Allow.
Refresh the page.
You can also manage permissions by visiting:
Firefox
Open the page you're trying to use.
Click the lock icon next to the website URL.
Select the arrow > More information.
Click Permissions.
Uncheck Use default and select Allow for both Camera and Microphone.
Refresh the page.
Safari (Mac)
While on the site, click the rectangle with 2 lines underneath [the menu].
Choose Website Settings.
Next to Camera and Microphone, select Allow.
Refresh the page.
Tip: Safari may only prompt for access once. If blocked, update settings manually using the steps above.
Safari (iPhone or iPad)
While on the site, click the rectangle with 2 lines underneath [the menu]. This will appear on the bottom of your screen, to the left of the web address.
Choose the 3 dots in the bottom right hand corner, under manage extensions and to the right of the A [font size].
Next to Camera and Microphone, select Allow.
Refresh the page.
Tip: Safari may only prompt for access once. If blocked, update settings manually using the steps above.
Microsoft Edge
Open the page you're trying to use.
Click the lock icon next to the website URL.
Choose Permissions for this site.
Set Camera and Microphone to Allow.
Refresh the page.
Still having trouble?
Restart your browser after changing permissions.
Try using a private/incognito window.
Make sure your operating system settings also allow camera/mic access:
On Mac: System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Camera/Microphone
On Windows: Settings > Privacy > Camera & Microphone
