How to Use Guided Notes

Guided Notes are fillable documents that make video lessons more interactive and supportive. As you watch along, you’ll see key concepts highlighted with blanks and cues, helping you stay engaged and take better notes.

What are Guided Notes?

Guided Notes are scaffolded documents that:

  • Direct your attention to important parts of the lesson

  • Provide structure without giving away answers

  • Guide your note-taking with fillable blanks and cues

Each video lesson for core courses in Subject comes with a Guided Notes document. These notes include key sections and fill-in-the-blanks that you can complete as you watch the video.

How Students Can Use Guided Notes

  1. Open a video lesson in Subject.

  2. Look for the Take Notes button linked with the lesson (right-hand side of your screen).

  3. Type directly into the blanks and sections as you watch.

4. Your progress will autosave automatically.

5. If you prefer, you can print your Guided Notes and complete them on paper.
