Overview:
From the Educator Portal, the Subject platform offers the ability to lock assignments. Locking assignments can be utilized to control access. Locking provides educators with the ability to administer tests, limit access outside of class, and customize coursework.
1) Select your Section
Before opening Course Manager, use the All Sections dropdown in the top-left corner of your Educator Portal to select the specific Section you want to apply locking to. This selection carries into Course Manager and determines which Section your changes will affect.
Note for Admins: If "All Sections" is selected when you enter Course Manager, any locking changes you save will apply across all sections school-wide, including other teachers' sections. Always confirm you have selected a specific section before proceeding. Teachers do not have the "All Sections" view and will only affect their own section.
2) Open Course Manager
Click the Course Manager tab in the left navigation bar.
3) Continue to Locking and select the course
Click the Locking tab, then select the Course you want to make adjustments to.
4) Choose the Lesson and Assignment
Clicking the lesson on the left hand side will lock the entire lesson. Select the action you would like to make.
Using the drop down arrow on the right hand side will allow you to select specific assignments that you would like to lock.
5) Save your changes
Review the changes you are making then click "Save changes" or "Cancel changes".
TIP: For ease, you can choose to lock all topics, all quizzes and all exams. Click the arrow next to the top checkbox, select from the menu, click Lock Selected then Save Changes.
Unlock Assignment(s)
To unlock, follow the same steps as above, but select 'Unlock Selected' and then click 'Save Changes'.
